For most if my life I have been curiously fascinated about art, technology, ecology, and large scale gardening. I have a BFA in new media from SJSU. I have worked for eight yeas as a Creative, teaching people how to have a healthy relationship with heir technology. And currently, half way through a Strategic Leadership MBA at Dominican University of California, and affiliate at the Venture Greenhouse in San Rafael.
Over the last year-and-a-half I have been learning about aquaponics as a way to grow substantial amounts of food. Over the summer of 2012, I built my first small greenhouse and tote-based aquaponics system.
As I write this the system is busy on it's first cycle. The sounds the system makes at the water fills and drains from the grow bed.
I have learned so much using my backyard to grow food. The garden has become a part of our family culture. And just like any relationship, it gives and takes.
The business strategy is to assist familys, small community groups, and schools in creating a strategic plan for sustainable gardens, aquaponics systems, or just interested in a more sustainable home.
I am starting with this blog to share my experiences, in addition to social media to empower and educate people around healthy food production.
